When I first met Cheryl on social media, I was pleasantly surprised at how much energy she had! Of course, our conversation started after she finished her jiu-jitsu class showing how much of a hard worker she is. Her enthusiasm for jiu-jitsu is very obvious after the second message I sent her she replied with "I WANT TO LEARN EVERYTHING ABOUT JIU JITSU" followed by a few awesome emojis haha. Her kindness and loyalty are also very evident in how much appreciation she shows for her professor, Lucas Lepri.
Focused on her goals and a true athlete, she kindly expressed how she needed to rest because she was training again the next day at 7:00 AM. Talk about dedication right? Oh, and did I mention she was a mother of six children?
Cheryl's energy and positive outlook on life is honestly rare and having people like that really cheers up the rest of us. She comes from a great academy and is a great example of a positive role model not just for the kids she teaches, but for adults as well. I first met Andrew on social media. We instantly connected through our mutual passion in jiu-jitsu. It's amazing how jiu-jitsu connects people from all walks of life. From Canada all the way to Australia, we managed to find common ground thanks to this wonderful sport. As I started to talk to Andrew, I quickly noticed that he was a kind person with a great personality and had interests in some cool subjects. From being a writer, wrestling fan, comic lover, horror fan, jiu-jitsu practitioner and father, he is someone that isn't only limited to one passion.
Andrew is a great role model for not only his kids but anyone trying to spread happiness and joy in a world that is too often filled with misery and hate. Please welcome Andrew Shaw to the Submission Shark Community.
Nathan is the type of person that leads by example. His ambitions are real and combined with his dedicated work ethic, I am confident he will reach his goals. From aspiring to being in the army and doing it to wanting to improve his jiu-jitsu game and achieving his purple belt. Always willing to learn and loyal to both his army brothers and jiu-jitsu team. He's a traveller and adventurer with the desire to push the boundaries and rise to the top.
